A Tyrant Seeks To Exploit “Gaps” In The Constitution*

Thanks to the quality and magnitude of Trump’s corruption and criminality, those “gaps” are being closed.

I have tried to think of anything even marginally constructive that came from the Trump presidency, without much success.

On September 11, 2022, I posted Trump’s Attempted Destruction of America, In Numbers (“Trump’s Numbers”). It’s a long list of numbers and descriptions with links to each line-item. The list is just a sample, really, of the lasting, destructive influence and devastation the former carnage president wrought and the havoc he continues to wreak on the country. The scale of the devastation is greater than the sum of its parts.

I posted Trump’s Numbers on the anniversary of 9/11 as a reminder that Trump, in many ways, is every bit the destructive force on the United States as was Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda. Trump is more insidious in some ways because the country cannot unite against a common enemy but instead divides against itself. Indeed, many MAGAs — militia members and lone wolves — are willing, if not eager, to threaten and commit acts of political violence and domestic terror as proxy for Trump, a fact the former president well knows and exploits at every opportunity with language…
