My law partner Nathan, who didn’t go to Yale, has too much common sense and is far too smart to stoop to Senator Hawley’s ‘astounding’ false equivalency. Yet, Nathan is correct that the recent revelations about President Biden having in his possession documents with classification markings after the end of his time as vice president is becoming a political nightmare for the President. This likely will hang over President Biden’s anticipated announcement and candidacy for 2024 (if he runs), despite that his accomplishments, achieved with the smallest of legislative margins, match up with those of some of our most accomplished presidents.

“[t]he president has delivered the largest economic recovery plan since Roosevelt, the largest infrastructure plan since Eisenhower, the most judges confirmed since Kennedy, the second-largest healthcare bill since Johnson, and the largest climate change bill in history.”
This latest whataboutism prompted Nathan to ask if I’d be blogging this weekend on President Biden’s admitted possession of documents with classification markings from his time as vice president. Given the right’s sudden interest in the “unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents,” it’s only fair…
