Be Careful What You Ask for And Whom You Ask

At long last, insentient clusters of extrauterine human cells residing at -320 degrees Fahrenheit have the same legal protections as their unfrozen insentient adult counterparts, to wit Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama), who is “clearly gunning to win the award for ‘Dumbest Senator’ a second year in a row,” and Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Mississippi) who recently killed IVF protection in the senate, a worthy competitor for that distinction in her own right.

Evangelical Christianity, Dobbs, sheer stupidity, and now the god’s (anthropomorphized) definition of personhood as expressed in a court decision have tied pro-lifers in knots. Tuberville “took three different positions on that Alabama court’s embryo ruling in less than two minutes”:

1. “Yeah, I was all for it. You just gotta look at everything going on in the country. It’s just an attack on the families, an attack on kids. You know, anything we can do for the future of our young people, because they’re our number one commodity. We need to have more kids, we need to have an opportunity to do that, and I thought this was the right thing to do.”
