Texas A.G. Ken Paxton Now Leads The Pack As Most Cruel and Inhumane*
In A Field Of Worthy Competitors
The Texas attorney general continues his quest to be the most reviled, corrupt, and disgraced — and disgraceful — public official, even beyond Texas’s borders. “[S]tunning in its disregard for [Kate] Cox’s life, fertility, and the rule of law,” Ken Paxton’s latest inhumanity — taking Texas abortion law into his own hands and defying a court order — reminds me of the Roy Tillman character in the 5th season of Fargo.
In the 2nd episode, Tillman, a thoroughly corrupt preacher, rancher, and the “constitutional sheriff” of Stark County, North Dakota, is sitting outside in a homemade wooden hot tub, smoking a fat cigar, and overlooking a vast horizontal expanse. Two FBI agents walk up and hand Tillman a business card.
“We thought we’d come by to see why you weren’t enforcing any of our laws,” one agent says.
“What laws?” Tillman asks.
“Well, you know. Gun laws, drug law, any of the half-dozen other American laws passed and ratified by the United States government that you don’t seem to recognize,” the agent says.
“Well, Agent Juaquin [intentionally mispronounced with a hard “J”], I think you’ll find there is no one on god’s green earth that is a greater enforcer of the laws…
